Three hundred years ago, after claiming their land grant in Philadelphia, the Ferree family traveled to the area now known as Paradise, Pennsylvania. To commemorate the 300th anniversary of their arrival there, Paradise Township is planning a celebration to be held September 14th, 15th, and 16th, 2012.
The Descendants of Marie Ferree organization will be holding a reunion in 2012 coinciding with those dates but will begin our reunion activities on September 13th with a special DOMF event planned for that day. From September14th through the 16th, our activities will include group attendance at the Township's scheduled events as official representatives of the Ferree family. Other DOMF activities as time and scheduling allows.
Our headquarters will be at the Continental Inn, 2285 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA, where a block of rooms will be reserved for our group. Our Welcome Center there will open on Wednesday evening (September 12th) to sign in, get acquainted, greet and meet.
One of the Township's events will be a parade held on Saturday the 15th. It will move along Route 30 and end at the Paradise Township Community Park where there will be booths, concession stands, contests, games, etc.
Planning by our organization is now underway. As planning progresses, information regarding accommodations, activities, and scheduling will be posted to this page. Information letters will also be sent to all on our invitation/mailing list. If you are not on that list but would like to be, we would be pleased to add your name. Contact
An invitation to attend our reunion and this special celebration is extended to all Ferree family, LeFevre family, and Faulkner family descendants and to all others who may have an interest in learning more of our Ferree family history. We would like to have you join us and will look forward to meeting you there.
