Cornelius Ferree and his wife, Elizabeth Allison Ferree, built this large limestone house in 1774 from stone quarried on the farm. Two hand carved date stones were set in place. Later the house was stuccoed and the stones were covered. In 1959 the dwelling was sandblasted and remortered. At that time the stone masons uncovered the two beautiful, well preserved stones. Cornelius Ferree was a great grandson of Madame. |
